Redundancy is a potentially fair reason for dismissal but care needs to be taken with the process followed. Any employee who has been working for you for two years will be entitled to a statutory redundancy payment from you as their employer. If the statutory redundancy entitlement is not paid within six months, then the employee could submit a claim to the employment tribunal.
